In a meeting with Ho Chi Minh City voters, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed this statement.
On November 16, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the Unit 2 National Assembly delegation visited the voters in Districts 1, 3, and Binh Thanh. Attending the conference was Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen. The President also met the voters in the Cu Chi and Hoc Mon Districts on the same day in the morning.
At the meeting, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc stated that the COVID-19 pandemic has spread rapidly on a large scale, causing significant damage to the socio-economic and personal lives of people in Vietnam as well as in the city.
The President suggested a kind of timely praise for all strata of people in society to boost morale in reference to the national memorial event for countrymen who perished in COVID-19. In addition, the President praised the Party Committee, the government, and citizens of the city for their spirit of cooperation, solidarity, dynamism, and inventiveness in the fight against the pandemic.
In light of the approaching circumstances, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc stated that the disease is spreading rapidly in Europe and the United States, with the number of deaths skyrocketing. As a result, despite being infected with COVID-19, Ho Chi Minh City must continue to implement epidemic preventive and control measures with extreme caution in order to reduce the number of infected people who are experiencing severe alterations and fatalities. The city's authorities and health forces must examine and vaccinate the elderly and individuals at risk of illness. Continue to motivate people not to be negligent and to implement 5K well in the "new normal".
Furthermore, the President mentioned advising the public on strategic steps and expanding the economic recovery model. After the epidemic raged, the President directed Ho Chi Minh City to develop a new economic model and a new financial center as soon as possible.
